Day 178 (Tues 6/27) 2nd attempt at the same theme

I like the boldness of my first attempt better but some points of execution in this second much better. The dude, her hair. I chose a muted palette for the dreariness but prefer bold color I think. Working with the Daniel Smith paints (relying heavily upon Bloodstone, a new favorite neutral of mine) was a pleasure, as always. I may brighten the colors, I think, later.

Day 177 (Mon 6/26) Walking Away

I found this black and white photo online, of a woman on the steps of a bridge or walkway turned around watching a guy walking away from her. It told so many stories, I really liked it, so tried to recreate it in watercolor. He came out looking pretty bad. I may attempt this again. I used the cotman paint set, which I enjoyed, but I’d like to try it with daniel smith, on better paper, too, and try him differently. Still, I kind of like it.
