For being a five minute flower this thing took forever. And 6 attempts. Yeah. Water is not my friend, apparently. I’ll figure it out.
A 365 day art project… one drawing a day
Another Peter Sheeler Tutorial. I still have very little control over the paint…

A quick watercolor sketch.
NOT my original idea… I saw a similar card in the store and thought a little watercolor painting might be more special. (Plus I needed an ‘S’ anyway, since it is TWINS: friends, not friend!) Hoping the mommy liked it.
Watercolor and ink, on a brown paper notebook cover. The front cover of the notebook I posted yesterday. (Yes, it’s true, I had no time again today.) Just copied from the internet. I feel like I’ve let you down… but at least I kept moving, and day 48 is finished!

An airplane isn’t ideal for drawing… but it’s pretty good for doodling. This is the back cover of a little notebook I brought with me. Micron pens, .8, .2, .005
(If you can’t tell, it’s those little spiky gumballs we played with as kids, remember them? Also a pine needle, stick, leaves. From a photo from afternoon last week on Nolan’s Trail.)
Still on our business trip. This is small… just a few inches wide. Took me WAY too long. I still have to force the paint, really. When will I learn to direct it??? It looks so simple in the videos. Also… my sky is GREEN. No. Just no.

I don’t exactly “zentangle“, but I do like to draw these sort of zentangled pictures. We are on a business trip but I won’t let that stall my threesixfive project. (Plus I love my art supplies like they are children. Almost. So brought a bunch with me. A mini travel version of my studio.) I did this project on the plane, on an empty lottery ticket I picked up at Food Lion. I wish I had thought to work the shaded areas into the design. And I thought of a way to work the feathers in better. But I’m needing a pencil on fewer and fewer projects, which feels like improvement.

Sunday’s submission, following another youtube tutorial. Part of the lesson was learning to use a sponge. I failed at that but it was my sponge’s fault. Really. A little more light in the painting is needed. I like it, though.
