Day 328 (Saturday Nov 25) work-art and Santa smiles

Yeah, I’m counting my work as art today. A sign for the Christmas mailbox at work… Santa will be in for a few hours each Saturday, but when he isn’t there, we’ve set up a mailbox and stationery for kids to write and mail their Santa letters.

(Santa was a big hit today, by the way!!)

I didn’t create the fonts, just adapted from fonts I pulled from websites. I’m going to darken the top line when I go in next time.

It’s officially Christmas! 🙂 Nothing like a shameful plug to ruin a good holiday. (The peppermint shake is now Santa approved. In the end he decided chocolate was his favorite, but Mrs Claus declared peppermint was hers)

Day 324 (Tuesday Nov 21) still not finished

Still not finished with yesterday’s piece… getting close, though. Leaves are so relaxing and pleasant to work on. I think I might like it better in black and white, but I’ve promised this person a PAINTED series, and I do like how it is turning out.

Day 323 ( Mon Nov 20) unfinished leaves

Unfinished, but still I LOVE them. I’m doing these FOR someone and really almost wish they were mine to keep 🙂 I hope she will love the finished product. I have to do a series for her. I think I will stick with this style.

Day 322 (Sunday Nov 19) watercolor bookmark, molotow liquid chrome pen

My last Artsnacks subscription box contained a Molotow Liquid Chrome pen, 1 mm
a pen that writes in shiny (mirror finish!) silver… You can’t see the “shiny” here but it is SUPER cool. (I like it much more than I’d imagined I would, and keep using it everywhere!) There’s also a 2mm size, and a set with three: 1mm, 2mm, and 4mm tipped pens. I’m really thinking hard about getting that 4 mm… It is like drawing a mirror. 🙂 The thin tip is great for details, and even filling in larger surfaces. But I can imagine how fun the 4mm will be! I used the pen here for some accents and the words on a Christmas bookmark for a swap I’ve sent out for Christmas. (It looks really cool in person)

DAY 321 (Thurs, Fri, AND Sat)

Sent a bunch of decorated mail Thurs (only photographed one, but the others were holly leaves) I wish I could show you the address, because it turned out COOL:

Fri completed the cat project:

And for Saturday I’m counting this 5×7 similar kitty I’ve sent for a Christmas gift to a cat lover:

Although… I’m still planning to “art” this evening. If possible. 🙂
