Day 54:(Thurs 2/23) watercolor splatter technique

Similar to the splatter technique I used in January for the cherry tree, but you spray water on it after splattering paint everywhere (and I do mean everywhere.) I definitely haven’t mastered this. These are unattractive paintings. BUT… I had fun doing them, and may use this idea in the future.

Day 49: (Sat.) baby shower card, watercolor

A quick watercolor sketch. img_4089NOT my original idea… I saw a similar card in the store and thought a little watercolor painting might be more special. (Plus I needed an ‘S’ anyway, since it is TWINS: friends, not friend!) Hoping the mommy liked it.

Day 48:(Fri) a little birdie sketch

Watercolor and ink, on a brown paper notebook cover. The front cover of the notebook I posted yesterday.  (Yes, it’s true, I had no time again today.) Just copied from the internet. I feel like I’ve let you down… but at least I kept moving, and day 48 is finished!

Day 47: (Thurs)airplane doodles

An airplane isn’t ideal for drawing… but it’s pretty good for doodling. This is the back cover of a little notebook I brought with me. Micron pens, .8, .2, .005

(If you can’t tell, it’s those little spiky gumballs we played with as kids, remember them? Also a pine needle, stick, leaves. From a photo from afternoon last week on Nolan’s Trail.)

Day 45: (Tues) watercolor (Peter Sheeler tutorial)

Still on our business trip. This is small… just a few inches wide. Took me WAY too long. I still have to force the paint, really. When will I learn to direct it??? It looks so simple in the videos. Also… my sky is GREEN. No. Just no.
